Rapid Refill and Volta Oil raise over $121,000 in Seventh Annual Alzheimer’s Fundraising Campaign

Rapid Refill’s 15 locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire held a seven week campaign, running from June 1st to July 16th, as part of the seventh annual Purple Pump-Up for Alzheimer’s to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter.

The Purple Pump Up Campaign which raised $118,475 for Alzheimer’s care, support and research, has generated almost $500,000 during its seven-year history. The store associates have made Purple Pump-Up the success it is today. Volta Oil and Rapid Refill personnel are passionate in their efforts to play their part in eliminating this terrible disease. More of the customers are now aware of Alzheimer’s and are willing to donate towards its elimination.

Many of Rapid Refill’s partners, such as New England Ice Cream, Webster Bank, Santander Bank, Wells Fargo and J. Polep Distribution Service generously supported Purple Pump-Up. The campaign also asked customers to give donations at the gas pumps as well as inside the stores. On top of asking for donations, all fifteen Rapid Refill locations donated five cents from every gallon of gas sold on June 21st for The Longest Day ® —an Alzheimer’s Association ® national fundraising and awareness effort.

More than 144,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The money raised from the Purple Pump-Up campaign contributes to funding for outreach and support to people impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The Rapid Refill Bellingham Store, at 207 Mechanic St/RTE 140, Bellingham, MA. Was the 1st place fundraising store in the chain raising over $5600 this year! The other fourteen Rapid Refill locations included Massachusetts Stores in Beverly, Devens, two locations in Falmouth, Randolph, Taunton, and Westford, as well as New Hampshire Stores in Chichester, Loudon, North Loudon, Manchester, two locations in Merrimack and Nashua.

The campaign concluded on Saturday September 19th when staff participated in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s held in Plymouth MA. The walk team raised an additional $3,085 to bring the grand total raised to $121,560.
